Most SMP jobs run over several sessions. Sittings let you keep each session on an order separate — its own date, specialist, notes, photos, forms and signatures — so the whole treatment reads as a tidy timeline instead of one big pile.
You’ll find Sittings on an order, below the line items and payments. (An order is one job overall — see the Orders guide; each sitting is one visit within it.)
Add a sitting
Tap + Add sitting. A new card appears, numbered for you — Sitting 1, Sitting 2, and so on, in the order you add them. For each sitting you can set:
- Date — the day of the session.
- Status — tap Scheduled or ✓ Completed to mark where it’s up to.
- Specialist — who carried it out (type the technician’s name).
- Amount (£) — what this session costs. A status chip on the sitting then shows where its money’s up to — ✓ Paid, Part-paid, or Due — based on the payments allocated to that sitting (see Orders for logging a payment against a sitting).
- Notes — what happened this session: needle, pigment shade, areas covered, healing, anything worth a record.
Everything saves as you go.
When the client arrives
A quick sequence to run every visit:
- Take fresh before photos — every session, not just the first.
- Check the consent badge is complete for this sitting (the client’s consent + medical history, signed for this visit).
- Do the treatment, then record the inks used in your Notes afterwards.
Alongside the Inks used on the sitting, you now also record Needles used — pick the make (or + Add new), and add the size, lot and expiry for each needle.
Forms on a sitting
Each sitting has its own Forms section. The forms set to run per sitting show here as Fill … buttons — typically:
- Fill Consent & Medical History — the client confirms their details, medical history and consent for this session, and signs.
- Fill Treatment Record — your record of what you did this session (colours, needles, pain level, photos taken, aftercare given).
Tapping Fill … opens the full-screen signing screen so you can hand the iPad to the client (or fill it yourself). See The signing screen for how that works.
Once a form is filled it appears under Submitted forms for that sitting, with:
- View answers — show or hide what was entered.
- Review — appears when a client has filled and signed a form (in studio or from their portal); open it to add your technician notes and co-sign.
- PDF — produce the branded Consent or Treatment Plan document for that sitting, ready to print or email.
The Consultation / Treatment Plan form is filled once per order, not per sitting — you’ll find it higher up the order under Consultation. See Forms & consent.
Photos on a sitting
Each sitting has its own Photos area — add before / after / progress / document files with an optional caption, exactly like on the order itself, so every session has its own before-and-afters. Tap a photo’s × to remove it (it asks first).
Photos you added before you started using sittings (or any not yet filed to a session) sit under Earlier / unfiled photos. To file one to a session, use its Move to… menu and pick the sitting.
Signatures on a sitting
Any signature taken for that session — the client’s consent, your co-sign — is listed under Signatures, showing the name, what it was for, and the date.
Remove a sitting
Tap Delete sitting and confirm. Its photos are kept and moved to Earlier / unfiled photos, so you never lose images by removing a session.
In short: add a sitting per visit, set the date and specialist, fill the consent and treatment record for that session, and drop the photos in. The order then tells the whole story, session by session — and the same per-sitting consent is what your client can complete ahead of time from their portal.
